Scott Paglia, L.Ac.
Clinic director · Licensed & board-certified acupuncturist · In practice since 2000
Ask Scott why he practices this medicine and he'll describe a particular look on a patient's face: the smile of someone whose long-standing pain has finally eased. He loves a challenge. When he opened his doors in 2000, most of his patients had already been to every other clinic in the state, and he still finds that the more complex the case, the more interested he becomes.
Scott graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2000 and has been licensed in Washington ever since. He studied the Balance Method with the late Dr. Tan starting in 1999, and has trained with Dr. Jimmy Chang and Bob Doane. His acupuncture draws on Traditional Chinese, TAN Balance Method, Five Element, Japanese, trigger point, structural and auricular styles.
Chinese herbal medicine is central to his work. He runs a dedicated herbal clinic in Bellingham and teaches continuing-education courses for other acupuncturists on using herbs in clinical practice. Before medicine, Scott worked in journalism, photography and teaching.
“When the nervous system quits sounding the alarm, people shine.”
